pragma SYSTEMS was founded in 1990 as a software process improvement and assessment business and is a privately held corporation. pragma SYSTEMS was one of the first organizations awarded an assessor's license by the Software Engineering Institute to measure the maturity of an organization's processes based off of the newly created Capability Maturity Model (CMM).

While working with customers and helping to measure and develop CMM compliant processes, our staff realized that in every organization a majority of the compliant procedures were consistent. That was the brainstorm for the creation of processMax, the first intranet, web-based solution that integrates SW-CMM compliant processes and procedures with document management and automated workflow.

In 1997, processMax was launched, and the core competency of pragma SYSTEMS made a shift from a software process improvement consulting business to a software development organization. processMax is the first intranet, web-based system that integrates SW-CMM-compliant processes and procedures with document management and automated workflow.

Today our business continues to grow as processMax has seen unprecedented success in the software process improvement market.
